《 課程介紹 -- English 》
Food is an essential part of everyone's life. From this course, it serves the purpose of helping students build up the foundation of specific terminology required in the field of food industry.
The target language is covered from the key areas of the food through natural conversations. Hands-on activities connected with terminology and knowledge are designed to help students
apply it in real life experience. Students will also learn about cultural diversity and respect for cultural differences through the foods of different cultures.
Textbook "Essential Kitchen English" is used for this course to build up the vocabulary bank for the food industry.

After taking this course, students will get a comprehensive language training and will equip with the language skills, confidence and knowledge in this field.

課程要求     Requirement
《 上課要求 》
Permission to miss class or late attendance must be obtained in advance and will be granted in cases of illness, family emergency, approved activity or other extenuating circumstances. Marks will be deducted for absence and lateness in the absence of advance permission.
以下情形可獲准缺課或遲到:生病、家庭事故、校內外活動(有公假證明)或其他特殊情況,上述所有的情況,必須“事先”向老師請假。若學生沒有事先請假而遲到或缺課,出席成績將被扣分。

《 報告要求 》
Students should write their original writing without plagiarizing.
If students caught plagiarizing will receive a mark of zero on the assignment.
所有作品必須自己的創作,有抄襲現象的學生,該項作業成績為零。

《 討論要求 》
Students will be expected to exchange their views on discussion questions with classmates in English.
課堂討論全部使用英文。

《 其他要求 》
1. If you are absent from class, you are still responsible for all course work. This includes getting class notes and homework assignments from a classmate and submitting any work that was due on that date. 若當週有缺席狀況,請自我跟上課堂進度,包括課堂筆記、作業或期限內應完成的作業。

2. If you send your teacher-Vivian an email, your subject line must include the following: 1) your name and student number, 2) the course name and 3) topic of this email (see example below): 上傳給老師的郵件主旨必須要有:你的名字、學號、課程名稱、email 主旨(見以下範例): SUBJECT: From Vicky Lin,1090000, English for the Food Industry,Checking My Grade. The content of your email must include greetings, clear messages with courtesy, and your signature. 你的內文中必須要有合宜的問候語和署名。

3. When conducting online test/exam, students must use his/her GMS email / turn on the camera/ with student ID to prove the attendance.
If student does not follow the rule, he/she will be taken as absence for the test/exam. The test/exam will be scored as "zero".
進行線上測驗時,學生一定要用學校的email並開啟鏡頭,準備學生證以證明身份,若未達此要求,該考試成績零分計算。
